Hi and welcome to information about MAD CYCLE 2016 180KM / 100KM Charity Cycling Challenge. This is your opportunity to Make a Difference Worldwide.  We invite you to take part in a  well organized and published event and also present you with an opportunity to win one of the Prize Draws donated by our main sponsor, Hastings Hotels.

This is the eighth year of the  event on this route, which follows the Glens of Antrim Coast Road - voted as one of the top 5 of the world's most scenic coastal routes.

The Challenge takes place on Saturday 2nd July 2016.

The event is not a race but a “Challenge” and open to all who have a reasonable level of fitness.  This event takes place on public roads and therefore road safety is a priority.

There are two challenges for you to choose from:

180km  TITANIC Quarter – Cushendun – TITANIC Quarter

Check out this Strava Route http://www.strava.com/routes/5187369 In its inaugural year, this route follows the relatively flat coastal route along the Shore Road through Carrickfergus, Whitehead, and on to Larne before commencing the Glens of Antrim Coast Road to Cushendun for lunch, after which you return to Belfast via the same route. This 180 km ride will draw on your inner strength as you ride this same day distance. If you’re an experienced, serious or semi-serious cyclist who has put in the miles and who is looking for a big challenge, this is the ride for you. Rest stops at the 55 km and 140 km marks, plus a lunch stop at the 90km point in Cushendun will keep you well fed.

100km  Larne – Cushendun – Larne

Check out this Strava Route   http://www.strava.com/routes/5306585 Now in its eigth year and already a massive success raising funds for our projects, with hundreds of riders supporting the event over the years. Aimed at the leisure cyclist who wants to take on a challenge and still be able to enjoy a day out.  Have your lunch at Cushendun and enjoy the craic!
